RICE LADDOO is a very healthy and nutritional sweet that can be made easily from fresh ingredients in the kitchen. Its an instant energy booster .It stays fresh for 5 days without refrigeration

Ingredients- parboiled rice, jaggery, grated coconut

Fry rice in a dry pan

Roasted rice

Powder the rice

Powdered rice ready

Add jaggery and little water into the pan. Melt the jaggery

After 5 minutes, Jaggery syrup forms to one string consistency

Add grated coconut

After 5 minutes, Switch the stove off

Add rice powder and mix well.

Make laddoo

My Recipe

Prep Time: 30 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Yields: 20 laddoos


  • Parboiled rice (idli rice) -1 cup
  • Jaggery - 1 cup
  • Grated coconut- 1/2 cup


  1. Add 1 cup parboiled rice to a dry pan. Fry for 15 to 20 minutes on medium flame
  2. Keep stirring till all the rice gets roasted brown. Cool the rice.
  3. Add the roasted rice into a blender and make very fine powder
  4. Add the jaggery with 1/4 cup water into a pan and heat till jaggery melts
  5. In 5 minutes, jaggery syrup will form a one string consistency
  6. Add grated coconut and mix well for 5 minutes on low flame
  7. Switch the stove OFF. Add the rice powder and mix well.
  8. Make laddoos when its still little hot.
  9. These rice laddoos are tasty , healthy and stay without refrigeration for 5 days.

Additional Info

You can add roasted cashews or peanuts to the mix before making laddoos. It will enhance the taste and give a crunchy effect.You can add cardamom powder too. Coconut is a source of fibre,vitamins,minerals,amino acids, calcium,potassium,magnesium and electrolytes.Jaggery is loaded with anti-oxidants and minerals like Zinc and Selenium,It increases Haemoglobin count in blood and improves immunity.
