This is a very quick to make sandwich recipe,  which is very delicious and filling too. It can be made for kids breakfast or after school snack .Let us see how to make this simple and yummy sandwich.





Heat oil and fry cumin



Fry onions and ginger garlic paste



Add capsicum



Add potatoes and peas



Add salt and mix well



Add all spices



Mix well



Stuffing is ready



Grease the bread slice with butter



Spread the stuffing



Spread cheese slice



Cover with one more bread slice



Grease the tawa with butter



Place the stuffed bread on the tawa



Toast till golden brown



Serve hot with tomato ketchup



Cheesy Potato Peas Sandwich

Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Servings: 5 - 6 Sandwiches


  • Bread slices
  • Cheese slices
  • Butter for toasting
  • Boiled potatoes - 2 large
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Peas - 3 tsp ( boiled )
  • Capsicum – 3 tsp finely chopped
  • Chilly powder – ½ tsp
  • Roasted cumin powder – ¼ tsp
  • Chaat masala – ½ tsp
  • Amchur powder – ¼ tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – ½ tsp
  • Salt as required


  1. Boil the potatoes and peas and keep it ready
  2. Finely chop capsicum and onions
  3. In a tawa, heat oil and fry cumin seeds.
  4. Then, add onions, ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell goes off.
  5. Add chopped capsicum and fry for 2 to 3minutes
  6. Then add, mashed potatoes and peas .
  7. Add salt and mix well.
  8. Now, add chilly powder, amchur powder, chaat masala, jeera powder and give a good mix.
  9. Sandwich stuffing is ready.
  10. To make sandwich, take 2 slices of bread, apply butter on both slices.
  11. Spread the potato filling and cheese slice on the bread.
  12. Place another bread on the filling.
  13. Heat pan or tawa, grease with butter or ghee, place the sandwich on the tawa.
  14. Toast the sandwich until golden brown and crisp on both sides. Make the remaining sandwiches in the same way.
  15. Cheesy potato sandwich is ready. Cut into pieces as you wish. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.

Variations and Health benefits :

Quantity of cheese can be adjusted according to your requirements. Sliced cucumber can be placed on the filling. Potatoes helps in preventing Osteoporosis. It helps in maintaining heart health. It also helps in reducing the risk of infection. Cheese is a good source of Calcium, Fat and protein.
